Smart Reversal Entry
A reversal is only worth taking after the move that earned it — and a close that confirms it.
Most reversal tools fire on any single candle. This one waits for the move, the context and the close — all three.
Free & open-source · Works on any market and timeframe · Signals confirmed on bar close · An educational analysis tool, not financial advice.
An open-source reversal-entry framework: it requires a measured three-candle push, the right EMA context and a close-confirmed reversal candle, then projects a fixed-risk entry / stop / target — with a hidden 100-combination optimizer comparing your settings against a full parameter sweep.
Fading extremes is where outsized moves begin — and where most traders get destroyed. You see a candle flip and step in front of the move with no context and no confirmation, so you're either early and stopped out, or you freeze and miss the real turn. The problem was never your instinct; it was that nothing measured whether the setup actually qualified.
Smart Reversal Entry replaces that guesswork with one strict, repeatable rule. It first measures a three-candle directional push in real pip terms (so it ignores tiny, meaningless candles), checks that price sits on the correct side of your EMA filter, and only then accepts a candle that closes back the other way — confirmed on the bar close, never intrabar. The moment all three line up it projects a complete fixed-risk entry, stop and target, with summary and daily review tables logging how every projected setup behaved.
And it does something almost no free tool does: a hidden optimizer quietly runs 100 EMA × move-threshold combinations in the background and shows you the best-performing one next to your own settings — so you can see, not guess, how the framework behaves across a whole parameter range. Open-source, free, read every rule yourself. Not a black box, not a promise — a disciplined way to take reversals on evidence instead of adrenaline.
- Take reversals only after a measured push, the right EMA context and a confirming close
- Filter out tiny noise candles with a real pip-based move threshold
- Act on bar-close confirmation, never on a signal that vanishes intrabar
- See entry, stop and target projected automatically with fixed risk
- Compare your settings against a hidden 100-combination optimizer
- Free & open-source — read and verify every rule yourself
Traders who want a strict, rules-based reversal entry instead of guessing tops and bottoms
6 components, one output
EMA context filter
Reversals are only considered when price is on the correct side of your EMA — longs above, shorts below — so signals aren't context-free.
Three-candle move check
Measures the directional push across the prior three candles in pips and requires it to clear your minimum threshold before any reversal qualifies.
Close-confirmed trigger
The signal candle must close in the opposite direction; nothing fires intrabar, which cuts reversals that look valid but vanish by the close.
Fixed-risk projection
Projects entry, a fixed pip stop and a selectable RR target (1:1 to 1:3) with TP/SL boxes and an entry line.
Hidden 100-combo optimizer
Runs 10 EMA × 10 move-threshold combinations in the background and surfaces the best performer next to your settings.
Summary & daily review
Tables log projected trades, win rate, profit factor, net R, drawdown and a daily PnL breakdown under your exact settings.
From a blank chart to a read
- Add the indicator to a standard candlestick chart.
- Set the EMA length for directional context and your minimum three-candle move in pips.
- Pick the correct pip preset for the instrument (Gold, FX 5-digit, JPY, indices…) or set it manually.
- Choose your stop-loss distance and take-profit RR (1:1 to 1:3).
- Wait for a valid close-confirmed BUY or SELL setup to print.
- Use the projected entry / stop / target as an analysis framework, and compare your settings to the optimizer's best internal combination.
